ROMAN

NUMERALS

The Cards are numbered with Roman Numerals. For all of you non-Romans here is a short refresher on Roman Numerals.

I=1

V=5

X=10

L=50

C=100

D=500

M=1000

Whenever you have the letter to the left that is smaller than the number to its right you subtract the smaller one. This happens one number before you reach the next higher Number/Letter.

Example:

II=2                                            VI=6                                    XI=11

III=3                                          VII=7                                  XII=12

IV=4                                           VIII=8                                XIII=13

V=5                                              IX=9                               XIV=14
